Call Medic

Call Medic is a status signal used to indicate that a player requires medical assistance.
When activated, it marks the player clearly on the map and in player lists, making medical needs immediately visible to others.

How it works

  1. Tap the Communication Menu at the top of the screen.
  2. Select Call Medic.

Once enabled, a red cross icon appears on the player’s map marker. Other players will see this icon in real time.

The same red cross is also displayed next to the player’s entry in the player search and player lists.

What does the red cross mean?

The meaning of the red cross is defined by the rules of the session and the organizer’s decisions. Common use cases include:

  • Reporting a game-related hit and waiting for a medic
(e.g. the player was hit, calls “need medic”, and waits for evacuation or revival)
  • Signaling that the player is out of action and requires medical assistance as part of the scenario
  • Requesting medical support during scripted or narrative events

Flexible rule interpretation

The Call Medic status is intentionally flexible and can be adapted to different rule sets:

  • The injured player may activate the status themselves
  • Alternatively, rules may require that:
    • the injured player cannot change their own status
    • another player must activate Call Medic on their behalf

This allows organizers to model anything from casual gameplay to strict milsim procedures.

Off-game safety use

In some sessions, Call Medic can be designated as an off-game safety signal.

For example:

  • a real injury occurs,
  • immediate real-world medical assistance is required,
  • the red cross is used to quickly identify and locate the affected participant.

This makes Call Medic useful not only for gameplay, but also as an emergency awareness tool.

Turning it off

Call Medic works as a toggle.

  • Selecting Call Medic again disables the status.
  • The red cross disappears immediately from the map and player lists.

Why it matters

  • Highly visible and unambiguous
  • Works without voice or radio communication
  • Supports both in-game mechanics and real-world safety procedures
  • Adapts to different play styles and event rules
  • You can use it at same time when reporting „need support
