Change Maps

Change Maps define the raster map displayed on the screen during gameplay.
This tool is available from the Navigation Menu and allows you to switch between different map sources depending on your location, scenario, and needs.

Accessing change maps

To change the base map:

  1. Open the Navigation Menu.
  2. Select Change Map.
  3. Choose one of the available base maps from the list.

The selected map is immediately applied to the main map view.

Default global maps

By default, Airsoft Force Tracking comes with two globally available map sources:

OpenStreetMap – Mapnik
A clean and widely used general-purpose map, suitable for most scenarios.

OpenStreetMap – Topographic
A terrain-oriented variant of OpenStreetMap, offering better readability of elevation, contours, and natural features.

Thanks to the OpenStreetMap initiative, both maps provide worldwide coverage and are continuously updated by the community.

Regional high-detail maps

In response to player feedback, AFT also includes several high-precision regional map sources:

Geoportal – Czech Republic
Highly detailed official maps covering the Czech Republic.

Geoportal – Poland
Extremely detailed official Polish maps.
Please note: this map source may respond slowly, but offers exceptional accuracy and terrain detail.

USGS Topographic (USA)
Official topographic maps provided by the United States Geological Survey.

USGS Satellite (USA)
Satellite imagery covering the United States, useful for terrain recognition and large-area overview.

These maps are especially valuable for events that rely on real-world terrain accuracy.

Offline map store

The Base Maps window also provides access to the Offline Map Store.

  • A dedicated button is available at the top of the screen.
  • The store allows you to search, download, and install offline maps directly inside AFT.
  • No external downloads, file transfers, or manual copying are required.

Once installed, offline maps are immediately available for use, making them ideal for:

  • remote areas,
  • large events with limited connectivity,
  • or scenarios where mobile data is unreliable.

Designed for flexibility

The Base Maps system is designed to:

  • support both global and regional gameplay,
  • provide high accuracy where it matters most,
  • and work reliably even without network coverage.

Choosing the right base map helps ensure better navigation, clearer situational awareness, and smoother gameplay in every session.
