Session — Your mission starts here. Join an ongoing operation, create a brand new session, or explore AFT with a demo game – no setup required. If you’re running the show, this is your command center: define armies, manage players, configure scenarios, attach QR codes to field objectives, set up Meshtastic comms, and keep full control of how the game unfolds.

Current Scenario — The scenario is live — and so is this screen. Tap here to see exactly what’s happening in the current mission: a bomb ticking down, armies competing for points, or any other objective your game administrator has set in motion. The view adapts automatically to whatever scenario is active, so every player always knows what’s at stake.

Find Coordinates — Precision matters. Search any location by GCS or MGRS coordinates — the same formats used on radio and in the field. Whether you’re calling in a position or navigating to a grid reference, AFT speaks the language.

Search – Never lose track of what matters. Search for players and markers by army, unit type, or role — and jump straight to their position on the map. Useful after a respawn, during a push, or anytime you need to locate a specific unit fast.

Ruler – Measure before you move. Draw a line on the map and get the distance instantly — useful for estimating travel time, coordinating flanks, or checking whether a position is within range. No mental math, no guessing.

Show Compass – Toggle a full dial compass overlay on your map screen. Useful in dense terrain or when you need a quick bearing without switching apps. Tap once to show, tap again to hide.

Layers – Shape the battlefield. Add and manage vector overlays directly on the map — draw zones, mark boundaries, define areas of operation. As a session administrator, you can publish your layers live so every player sees the updated map in real time, the moment you make a change.

Change Map – Switch terrain on demand. Choose from online maps or import an offline one when you’re operating beyond cell coverage. If the session administrator has added a recommended offline map, it shows up at the top of the list — ready to load with a single tap.

Your Team – Find your squad. Browse the teams available in your army and jump in — or if you’re already part of one, check its name, access code, and how many soldiers are fighting under the same banner. Coordination starts before the first shot is fired.

Show Teams / Show Players – Two ways to read the battlefield. Show Teams reduces the map to team-level icons — cleaner, faster, better for big operations. Show Players brings back individual positions so you can track every friendly unit. Switch between them on the fly depending on what the moment demands.

Define Myself – Tell the army who you are. Assign your rank and unit type — infantry, recon, medic, whatever your role on the field. Your icon on the map updates instantly, so teammates and commanders always know what they’re looking at.

Scan QR Code – The field comes alive. Scan QR codes placed by the game master to trigger mission events — pick up intel, activate objectives, or unlock scenario-specific actions. No additional hardware, no apps to switch — just point and scan.

Meshtastic – No GSM signal? No problem. When cellular coverage drops, AFT switches to Meshtastic — a radio mesh network that keeps basic position data flowing between players. Tap here to check connection status and manage your Meshtastic setup for the current session.
