How to Add a Scenario to Your Session

What Are Scenarios?

Scenarios are structured game modes built directly into Airsoft Force Tracking. Rather than running a generic free-for-all, scenarios give a session a defined objective, progression, and narrative framework — visible on every participant’s device in real time. They are designed to work with the rest of the AFT toolset: player tracking, shared markers, QR codes, and role hierarchy all feed into how a scenario unfolds on the field.

In the current version of AFT, three scenario types are available: Correspondent, Honeypot, and Sabotage. A full description of each scenario, including rules and recommended team configurations, is available in the dedicated scenarios article.

A session can have multiple scenarios added to it, but only one can be active at any given time. Activating a scenario is covered separately in the activation guide.

Who Can Add Scenarios?

AFT uses a role-based access model. Adding scenarios to a session is a function reserved for the session administrator. Regular players and participants do not have access to session management tools. The procedure described in this article assumes you are logged in with administrator credentials.

Step-by-Step: Adding a Scenario to a Session

1. Create and join the session as administrator

Start by creating your session and logging in with your administrator account. Once inside, you will have access to the full set of session management tools.

2. Open the navigation menu

Tap the button that opens the main navigation menu. This is your central access point for all session-level tools.

3. Navigate to Session tools

From the navigation menu, select Session. This opens the session management panel.

4. Access scenario management

Inside the Session panel, tap the hamburger menu and select Scenario Management. A new window will open showing all scenarios currently associated with your session.

Note: Every session starts with one scenario already added and activated by default — Standard Battle. This is the baseline game mode and is always present unless explicitly replaced.

5. Add a new scenario

To add a second scenario to the session, open the hamburger menu again within the Scenario Management window and select ’Add scenario to session’. A new window will appear allowing you to choose the scenario type.

The available options are:

A complete overview of all scenario types is available in the scenarios documentation article.

6. Review and confirm

Select the scenario you want to add — in this example, Correspondent. You will be presented with a summary window that describes the scenario, provides a link to the full documentation page, and offers an option to play a short instructional video. Review the information, and when ready, tap ’Add this scenario to session’.

7. Confirm the scenario appears on the list

After a moment, the new scenario will appear in the scenario list. It will be displayed greyed out, which indicates it is inactive. This is expected behavior — only one scenario can be active in a session at a time. The newly added scenario is ready to be activated when needed.

To activate a scenario, refer to the dedicated activation guide.
