Scanning QR Codes

Scanning QR codes allows players to interact with Interactive QR Codes placed in the field and receive session-specific information or instructions.

How to scan a QR code

To scan a QR code during a session:

  1. Open the Navigation Menu.
  2. Select Scan QR Code.
  3. Point the camera at the QR code.

Once the code is scanned, its embedded message is immediately displayed on the screen.

What happens after scanning

After a successful scan:

  • the message stored in the QR code is shown to the player,
  • no internet connection is required,
  • the response is instant.

The content of the message depends entirely on how the QR code was configured by the session administrator.

Offline-friendly by design

Because messages are stored inside the QR code itself, scanning works reliably even:

  • in remote areas,
  • without mobile coverage,
  • or during network outages.

This makes QR codes a dependable interaction method in real-world field conditions.

Preparing QR codes for the field

Before an event, QR codes should be properly prepared and tested to ensure smooth gameplay in real-world conditions.

Once a QR code is created in the session:

  • generate the QR image,
  • download it to your device,
  • and print it in a size suitable for outdoor use.

It is recommended to:

  • use weather-resistant paper or lamination,
  • place codes in clearly accessible locations,
  • and test scanning offline before the event starts.
