Scanning QR codes allows players to interact with Interactive QR Codes placed in the field and receive session-specific information or instructions.
How to scan a QR code
To scan a QR code during a session:
- Open the Navigation Menu.
- Select Scan QR Code.
- Point the camera at the QR code.
Once the code is scanned, its embedded message is immediately displayed on the screen.
What happens after scanning
After a successful scan:
- the message stored in the QR code is shown to the player,
- no internet connection is required,
- the response is instant.
The content of the message depends entirely on how the QR code was configured by the session administrator.
Offline-friendly by design
Because messages are stored inside the QR code itself, scanning works reliably even:
- in remote areas,
- without mobile coverage,
- or during network outages.
This makes QR codes a dependable interaction method in real-world field conditions.
Preparing QR codes for the field
Before an event, QR codes should be properly prepared and tested to ensure smooth gameplay in real-world conditions.
Once a QR code is created in the session:
- generate the QR image,
- download it to your device,
- and print it in a size suitable for outdoor use.
It is recommended to:
- use weather-resistant paper or lamination,
- place codes in clearly accessible locations,
- and test scanning offline before the event starts.
